Yes, its back!
For the third year running Inverkeithing's Flower has returned to test your growing, making and baking skills, of course it's all just for fun but why not have a go and enter your fav cake or tray bake? You might even win a rossette! As always its run by volunteers so if you can offer a bit of help on the day to help things run smoothly that would be fantastic! Enter on the day - just bring your veg/cake etc to the Masonic Hall between 10.30am and 12 noon for judging. It's a lovely day out, the cafe will be open from 1.30pm (run by the Scouts), when the show opens to the public and the prize winners are revealed - and Ian Walker is running a Kids Art Wall to brighten up the cafe area. The Categories this year are: Veg basket/box (can be all same veg or assorted homegrown extra points for presentation) Wonky Veg (the weirder the better come on make us laugh!) Fruit/Veg animal or person sculpture (build a person or animal out of veg/fruit) Bunch/Bouquet/Posie of flowers presented in vase or vessel of choice. Large cake (this category wins the Walker Cup so get your competitive streak fired up and start baking!) Loaf cake (banana, date, lemon drizzle etc) Small cake (cup/muffin/choc crispy cake etc) Tray Bake (millionaires, Rocky Road etc..) Scones (sweet or savoury) Bread (sweet or savoury) Kids baking Jam/Jelly Chutney Art & Craft (art, pottery, paper cache, wood work - anything you made bring it along!) Recycled planter (plant ANYTHING in a welly or tin can or hat or potty or ANYTHING use your imagination impress us with your ideas of how to reuse and repurpose last years winner was a Sindy toilet with a spider plant in it - classy). |
